The fifth annual Allman Family Revival tour continued Thursday night in Atlanta at the Coca-Cola Roxy with a slew of special guests including Robert Randolph, Donavon Frankenreiter, Lilly Hiatt, Cody Dickinson, Luther Dickinson, Eric Gales, Joanne Shaw Taylor, Jimmy Hall, George Porter Jr. and Lamar Williams Jr.

After a late start due to a semi-truck breaking down, the concert kicked off with two original numbers by The Allman Betts Band, “Magnolia Road” and “King Crawler.” Next, the band was joined by North Mississippi Allstars’ Cody and Luther Dickinson for a cover of “Up and Rolling,” before jumping into three consecutive Allman Brothers Band covers, including fan-favorite “Melissa” with guests Lilly Hiatt.

The band kept the venue rocking throughout the evening, inviting Joanne Shaw Taylor onto the stage for “Stop Messin’ Round” and Gregg Allman’s “I’m No Angel.” Jimmy Hall joined the house band for “Keep On Smilin’” a tune from his time playing with Wet Willie.

Following Eric Gales’ “I Want My Crown,” a fight broke out in the audience. The organizer and son of Gregg Allman, Devon Allman was quick to grab the attention of a security guard who stopped the scuffle during Robert Randolph’s “The March.” Eric Gales addressed the crowd, saying “I think that I speak for every one of us up here, what was just happening over there was not cool.”

Last night’s lengthy set also included a cover of Gregg Allman’s “Multi-Colored Lady” and The Allman Brothers Band’s “Gambler’s Roll.” They encored with “Midnight Rider” to close out the evening. The tour continues tonight in Sarasota, Fla. at Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall.
