Kacey Musgraves announced that she will release her anticipated fourth studio album titled star-crossed on Sept. 10. The album will be accompanied by a film with the same name directed by Bardia Zeinali which stars Musgraves and will be streamed on Paramount+ the same day.

Along with the announcement of the release, Musgraves also dropped the title track of the album along with a trailer for the film.

According to a press release, the album was recorded in Nashville in just under three weeks and the film was captured over a 10-day shoot in Los Angeles and features cameos from Emmy Award-winner Eugene Levy, Victoria Pedretti (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, You), singer-songwriter Princess Nokia, Symone (RuPaul’s Drag Race winner) and comedian Megan Stalter.

“We wanted it to feel cinematic and epic without compromising the heart and the emotion,” said Zeinali in the announcement, “to feel fantastical and heightened and tell her story through the lens of art and fashion.”
