Today – May 22 – Glastonbury will virtually host the first ever performance by The Smile, a new project featuring Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood, as well as jazz drummer Tom Skinner.

The band is said to have taken its name from a Ted Hughes poem, and fans can hear a “set of new, original music” for Glastonbury’s Live At Worthy Farm global livestream, which takes the place of the usual European mega-festival.

“We’re truly honoured that Thom and Jonny have chosen our livestream event to premiere their brand new project, The Smile,” said festival co-organizer Emily Eavis. “Sadly, we are all unable to gather together at Worthy Farm, but alongside sets from other wonderful performers, this has all the makings of a special Glastonbury moment – and one we can broadcast to the world.”
