Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi have announced a series of socially distanced, limited-capacity performances for this coming summer, dubbed Fireside LIVE. They two will be joined by a varying configuration of musicians from Tedeschi Trucks Band’s lineup depending on the show. As such, they are billing the act as ‘Tedeschi Trucks’ rather than ‘Tedeschi Trucks Band’ “as a nod to their band members who are unable to join the tour because of the challenging conditions with the current pandemic,” according to a statement.
The shows are inspired by the band’s successful Fireside Sessions online performance series. According to a press release, “the shows will be the first fully live public performances for the ensemble since February 2020, and come on the heels of the recent postponement of their annual summer Wheels of Soul Tour to [2022]. Venues will include a mix of small or reduced-capacity outdoor amphitheaters, drive-ins and pod set-ups, all of which are COVID-19 compliant and taking precautions to ensure the safety of fans, staff, band and crew.”
“The decision as to which members will join for each show will be decided week to week, depending on local conditions at the time,” read the release.
“We’re really looking forward to getting on the road and seeing everybody’s beautiful faces,” said Susan. “Getting together earlier this year to record the Fireside Sessions was really re-energizing, and we are excited to play live in front of fans again. As much as we love performing as the full Tedeschi Trucks Band, current conditions just don’t allow for us to do that.”
The run will kick off on June 11 and 12 in Jacksonville, Fla. at Daily’s Place Amphitheatre. Other highlights will include a June 26 performance at the Columbia Speedway Entertainment Center in Cayce, S.C. and three nights at Apple Valley Park in Lafayette, N.Y. on July 9, 10 and 11. The band will also perform at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colo. on July 30 and 31; these shows will have “a separate ticket sale and with priority access to people who bought tickets for the 2021 ‘Wheels of Soul’ shows at Red Rocks.” See a full list of dates below.
In addition to the live shows, Tedeschi Trucks also announced that they would be rebroadcasting the Fireside Sessions streams via nugs.net. Those who originally purchased the broadcasts will be able to access these for free. More details will be announced soon.

April 20, 2021 at 9:13 pmWhy do you hate your grandparents and are you trying to kill all the elderly ? NC is nothing but killer territory for Covid according to the grand dragon, Roy Cooper. You will never be allowed to enjoy concerts again, or until the death rate is below 99.999999%.
