After selling out on alumni presale alone, Dead & Company have officially expanded their Playing in the Sand event in Mexico to two weekends in 2022.

“We are so excited to announce that Playing In The Sand will expand to two separate event weekends next year!” reads an official announcement. “As always, each weekend consists of three Dead & Company shows over four nights. The new weekend of shows is Friday-Monday, January 7 – 10, 2022, added to the originally scheduled dates of Thursday-Sunday, January 13 – 16, 2022.”

Looking at the band’s schedule, these 2022 Mexico outings will act as their first shows post-pandemic.

In fact, the last time John Mayer, Bob Weir, Oteil Burbridge, Jeff Chimenti, Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart took the stage together was the last Playing in the Sand in January 2020.
