Grace Potter has shared a new video for her piano ballad “Release.” The track comes off Potter’s most recent record, the Grammy-nominated Daylight. Potter shares songwriting credits on “Release” with the late Mike Busbee.

“I wrote ‘Release’ about letting go of grief & pain in order to forge a better way forward. It’s the most personal song I have ever written – but since I wrote it, it’s taken on a far more powerful meaning,” Potter said via press release. “Everything changed this past year and never has a song felt more relevant or connected to the human experience as it does in this moment. We are all ready to heal. We’re all ready for a little release.”

The new video was directed by Catherine Fordham. According to a press release, “the striking, impassioned clip finds Grace unbinding herself from the past and stepping into a brighter future.”

Potter was featured on the cover of the April/May issue of Relix. Read the story here.
