Drummer J.J. Johnson has officially announced his departure from Tedeschi Trucks Band. Johnson co-founded the group in 2010, sharing drum duties with Tyler Greenwell.

A note from the band reads:

After ten years as a member of Tedeschi Trucks Band, drummer J.J. Johnson has decided to move on from the band to pursue other artistic opportunities. Thank you J.J. for a decade of inspiring collaborations on stage and in the studio, and our enduring friendship! We look forward to bringing a new evolution of TTB to the stage one day soon.

The drummer has also worked with John Mayer, Gary Clark Jr., Edie Brickell and Charlie Sexton, among others.
