On Oct. 2, Goose performed a drive-in show at The Champlain Valley Expo in Essex Junction, Vt. The show heavily featured saxophonist Dave Grippo, a Vermont music legend who has guested with Phish on many occasions, is a member of the Giant Country Horns and leads his own Grippo Funk Band.

The show opened with “Time to Flee,” which saw Grippo emerge part way through the twenty-plus minute rendition. Grippo remained on stage for most of the set, which included a cover of Bob Marley’s “Caution” and Goose originals “Butter Rum” and “Jive II.” Grippo left the stage prior to the set-closing “Drive.”

The band, along with Grippo, returned to the stage for set two with a duo of covers: Billy Joel’s “Movin’ Out” and Walter Murphy’s “A Fifth of Beethoven.” After “Creatures” and “Doobie Song,” Grippo left the stage for the closing “Hot Tea,” as well as for the encore “Turned Clouds.”
