Before COVID-19 put the live music industry on ice, Bonnaroo 2020 was set for June 11-14, and then Sept. 24-27, before being ultimately pushed to 2021.
However, Roo organizers are still providing some entertainment this month, digging into their video vaults to present a Virtual ROO-ALITY livestream.
The Sept. 24-26 broadcast – which will be free via YouTube – will include a 2003 performance by the late, great James Brown as well as sets by My Morning Jacket (2011), Dave Matthews and Friends (2004), Metallica (2008), Alabama Shakes (2015), The White Stripes (2007), Nile Rogers & Chic (2018) and more.
There will also be a number of live appearances by the likes of Billy Strings, Bruce Hornsby, Galactic, Goose, Nathaniel Rateliff, Old Crow Medicine Show, filmmaker David Lynch, Turkuaz with Jerry Harrison and many more.
Bonnaroo’s in-person 2021 edition will take place June 17-20, 2021.
