Martin Margiela is one of the most enigmatic figures in fashion.

An artist with a penchant for rockstar theatrics, he spent years obscuring his identity as he worked for some of the most famous names in the industry, from Jean Paul Gaultier to Hermès.

Now, a new documentary – Martin Margiela: In His Own Words – tells his story as never heard before.

“Margiela never showed his face publicly and avoided interviews, but reinvented fashion with his radical style through forty-one provocative collections,” reads an official description. “Now, for the first time, the ‘Banksy of fashion’ reveals his drawings, notes, and personal items in this exclusive, intimate profile of his vision.”

While the film cannot be widely released in theaters due to the ongoing pandemic, Oscilloscope Laboratories is making it available to the public via a rental program. Relix is proud to partner with Oscilloscope to share the film.
