The Rex Foundation and The Jerry Garcia Family have announced ‘Daze Between,’ a nine-day livestream event that will include “exclusive musical performances and storytelling to celebrate the life and legacy of Jerry Garcia.” (Quote via press release.) The event begins on Aug. 1 and will run through Aug. 9. It will benefit the Rex Foundation, a non-profit created by the Grateful Dead in 1984.

‘Daze Between’ will kick off on Aug. 1 with ‘Rock My Soul’, a day-long celebration of Garcia’s birthday, which will air on FANS and is presented by KEEN.

The event will feature performances by the Grateful Dead, Dead & Co., Bob Weir & The Campfire Band and many more. There will also be additional new and archival performances, as well as storytelling, from such acts as Hot Tuna, Greensky Bluegrass, Dark Star Orchestra, The Infamous Stringdusters and many more. In addition to the musical performances, the event will also feature “an online auction of iconic Grateful Dead memorabilia including a guitar signed by Bob Weir, copies of Jay Blakesberg’s books of photography, a complete set of Jerry Garcia-inspired posters by Chuck Sperry and more.” Teton Gravity Research will also air their short film Fire on the Mountain. Finally, there will also be a screening of Move Me Brightly, which features Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, Jeff Chimenti, Donna Jean Godchaux, Neal Casal, Joe Russo, Mike Gordon and many more.

According to a press release, “Daze Between is designed to be a community-wide celebration encompassing a variety of platforms and partners including Live From Out There/11Eleven Group, DayGlo Ventures / Relix, Jerry Garcia Estate, Activist Artists Management, Nugs.net, level, Keen, and Teton Gravity Research.” The broadcasts will air on Nugs.net, Fans.com, Facebook, Youtube, and other channels.
