Shovels & Rope, the duo made up of Cary Ann Hearst and Michael Trent, have shared an reimagined, acoustic version of “Carry Me Home.” The band will release a series of five such tracks throughout the summer, leading up to the Aug. 21 release of the deluxe edition of their 2019 album By Blood.
The duo is also planning a special tour for Fall 2020, billed “An Evening with Shovels & Rope.” While dates have yet to be scheduled, a press release states that “the tour will feature the couple performing a stripped-down set of songs in intimate settings from their body of work.”
In addition to “Carry Me Home,” Shovels & Rope will also release versions of “Come On Utah,” “The Wire,” “I’m Comin’ Out” and “Mississippi Nuthin.” According to a press release, “all five tracks will be also included in the digital-only release of By Blood Deluxe Edition.”
