Although Leslie Mendelson’s touring schedule has been postponed due to Covid-19, the release of her new album If You Can’t Say Anything Nice…is right on schedule with the release of the “Lay It All On Me” music video. Shared yesterday, the song is not only the opening track for the forthcoming album, but also the final release to precede the LP. The album will be released this Friday, April 17 on all streaming platforms and for purchase in CD and vinyl forms.

When constructing her newest album, Mendelson turned towards her fears and anxieties for inspiration. “What was going on with society even before the pandemic hit was affecting me,” said Mendelson via press release, “in terms of gun violence, friends dealing with addiction to prescription drugs that were supposed to help them, not to mention all of the darkness in the news and the pressure to be a presence on social media. So this is my record to address those feelings.”
