On Wednesday, March 24, The Relix Channel will offer a five-hour block of Wayback Wednesday programming, looking back on two volumes of The Best of the Jammys as well as the Wetlands Preserved documentary.

Started by Relix Editor-in-Chief Dean Budnick and promoter Peter Shapiro, the Jammys recognized the accomplishments of musicians within the jam and improvisational music realm. These “Best-Of” selections will showcase once-in-a-lifetime performances by John Mayer, Trey Anastasio, Gregg Allman, Peter Frampton, Questlove, Les Claypool and more.

The Wetlands Preserved documentary – on the other hand – gives viewers an intimate look inside one of New York City’s most legendary jam venues and launching pad for acts like Phish, Dave Matthews Band, The Roots and moe., all of whom appear in the film. Others who appear in the film include Bob Weir, Robert Hunter, Derek Trucks and Oteil Burbridge.

According to organizers, “The night will sprinkle in additional Q&As with Wetlands producers Dean Budnick and Jonathan Healey… Join us in unpacking the roots of modern jam and enjoy standout performances from your favorite artists all in one nostalgic night.”
