According to an official statement, Trey Anastasio Band percussionist Cyro Baptista was hospitalized on the evening of Jan. 24 in Austin, Texas with flu-like symptoms.

T.A.B. is currently on tour, and despite performing through his illness on Friday night, Baptista will sit out the band’s Jan. 25 gig in Houston to recover from his illness.

In addition to his work with Anastasio, Baptista previously collaborated with the likes of Herbie Hancock, Yo-Yo Ma, Sting, Paul Simon and Wynton Marsalis.

Trey Anastasio Band have three additional dates on their winter calendar, including a stop in San Antonio and a two-night tour-closer in New Orleans.

This Story is Still Developing…

We are all so proud of our soul brother Cyro Baptista, who soldiered thru last night’s gig in Austin despite the onset of a bad case of the Flu. Unfortunately his symptoms got much worse last night and he was taken to the ER. He is currently recuperating in Austin and won’t be able to join us for the gig in Houston.

We all send mountains of love to you Cyro!
Get well soon!

Your loving band mates, Jen, Natalie, Russ, James, Tony, Ray, and Trey ❤️
