Bass maestro Thundercat will drop a new studio record on April 3 dubbed It Is What It Is.

The new project will be Thundercat’s fourth studio effort, following up 2017’s Drunk which included guest spots by everyone from Kenny Loggins and Michael McDonald to Kendrick Lamar and the late Mac Miller.

“This album is about love, loss, life and the ups and downs that come with that,” Thundercat – real name: Stephen Lee Bruner – said via press release. “It’s a bit tongue-in-cheek, but at different points in life you come across places that you don’t necessarily understand… some things just aren’t meant to be understood.”
