After a year of ownership, Galactic has announced the Tip-It Foundation to help support and grow the historic Tipitina’s club in New Orleans.

According to a press release, the foundation’s mission is “to elevate musical and cultural legacies through community outreach and education. Tip-It is a donor-advised fund that works in partnership with like-minded charities to further these goals.”

For their first endeavor, Tip-It will help produce the fourth-annual “Harvest The Music” benefit on Friday, Nov. 22, which will raise funds for NOLA’s Second Harvest Food Bank.

“We’re still feeling really good overall,” Galactic drummer Stanton Moore told Nola.com about the experience owning Tip’s. “We made it through our first summer and the first year of transition. A lot of energy was spent on the transition.”
