Capricorn Sound Studios in Macon, GA, the historic recording space that hosted sessions with the Allman Brothers Band, the Marshall Tucker Band and many more Southern-rock stalwarts, will reopen this December under the name Mercer Music at Capricorn (as part of Macon’s Mercer University), and a number of musicians will come together to celebrate the event with a concert at the Macon City Auditorium on Dec. 3.

Capricorn Revival: A Commemorative Concert Celebrating the Rebirth of Capricorn Sound Studios will feature musical director Chuck Leavell—keyboardist, former Allman Brothers Band member and current member of The Rolling Stones’ touring band—plus musical contributions from Taj Mahal, Widespread Panic’s John Bell and Duane Trucks, Marcus King, founding ABB drummer Jaimoe, Blackberry Smoke’s Charlie Starr, Jimmy Hall of Capricorn recording artist Wet Willie, Brent Cobb, Randall Bramblett and Tommy Talton, with additional guests to be announced.

Tickets for the concert go on sale Oct. 11 via Ticketmaster and at the venue’s box office. More information can be found here.
