Grammy-winning pianist, producer and bandleader Robert Glasper will release a new studio album, Fuck Yo Feelings, this Thursday, Oct. 3, via Loma Vista Recordings, coinciding with the kickoff of Glasper’s 28-day, 56-show residency at New York’s Blue Note jazz club.

The new studio project is the result of Glasper collaborating with a number of instrumentalists and vocalists over the span of two days with the intention of making a mixtape-like record that, according to a press release, “sonically documents the lost art of improv and on the spot collaborations that can only come from authentic relationships and true artistry.”

Included on the guest list for the album are Herbie Hancock, Yasiin Bey, Andra Day, YBN Cordae, Terrace Martin, Denzel Curry, Baby Rose, Bilal and more, along with Glasper’s Black Radio (his Grammy-winning 2012 album) collaborators, drummer Chris Dave and bassist Derrick Hodge.

Glasper, who most recently produced Brittany Howard’s new album, Jaime, will hold down an extended residency at Blue Note NYC starting this Thursday, Oct. 3. The monthlong, 56-show stint will feature a range of Glasper projects and special guests, along with specific tributes to J Dilla, Roy Hargrove and Stevie Wonder.
