Mike Gordon has hinted at a new project with collaborator Leo Kottke for over a year, and today the Phish bassist shared an update in the form of a photo of him and Kottke in the studio.
“Studio daze” is how Gordon captions the photo (above), which shows him lounging on the floor and Kottke with a guitar on his lap.
Gordon and Kottke last released an album in 2005 with Sixty Six Steps, which followed up 2002’s Clone. In a Relix interview from late 2017, Gordon said that he and Kottke were “dabbling” with writing new tunes, and confirmed that they were working on a new album in an interview early in 2018.

August 15, 2019 at 2:29 pmKotke must be hard up for money to work w this nobody. Kotke is a legend and is known as not really liking rock music. This is all about Leo making cash of phish fans and letting Mike think he is a legit artists by working w someone of Leo’s status/ Phish fans never even heard of him until MG worked w him..now they pretend they knew him all along..like the guy above who claims Leo an Mike both happened to be big influences. what a joke !
