moe. returned to Snow Ridge Ski Resort in Turin, NY, on Thursday to once again host moe.down and kick off this year’s festivities on the 4th of July with two headlining sets that featured the band’s holiday-appropriate debut of a Tom Petty classic.

Yesterday’s main-stage offerings were streamed live via nugs.tv, including a set from Arizona jam act Spafford, who kicked off their performance with their own “America” and fit in covers of Johnny Russell’s “Catfish John” (a song also adopted by Jerry Garcia) and Tears for Fears’ “Mad World.”

For their headlining opener, moe. began with “Bring it Back Home” before jumping into “Captain America.” The first set also featured the group’s debut of Petty’s “American Girl,” bookended by the set-closing “Tailspin.” Later on in the evening, the host band wrapped up their first appearance of moe.down 2019 with a possible nod to both the national holiday as well as a hot-button political topic, offering an encore cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song.”

Check out the bands’ full setlists below, along with full pro-shot video of both performances (“American Girl” starts soon after the 4:28:00 mark). moe.down 2019 continues today with three more sets from moe. plus music from God Street Wine, Kung Fu, moe. side-projects like Ha Ha the Moose and more. Main-stage sets can be viewed in nugs.tv’s live webcast.
