Mike Gordon by Peter Wallace, Les Claypool by Bill Kelly
Feeling the constantly collaborative spirit of Jazz Fest, Phish bassist Mike Gordon sat in with The Claypool Lennon Delirium on Thursday, May 2 at NOLA’s Civic Theatre for a cover of The Beatles’ “Tomorrow Never Knows.”
Interestingly, The CLD played the same song with Rush bassist Geddy Lee on April 10, which makes fans wonder if there might be any other famous faces invited to perform the Revolver tune in the near future.
Throughout the course of the evening, The Claypool Lennon Delirium also performed cuts off their recent LP South of Reality and welcomed longtime Claypool collaborators percussionist Mike Dillion and saxophonist Skerik for “Cricket Chronicles Revisited: Part 1, Ask Your Doctor – Part 2, Psyde Effects” and Primus’ “Southbound Pachyderm,” respectively.
Check out a clips of the performance below:

Less, pls
May 5, 2019 at 1:49 pmHey More, pls…I did just check them out. Thanks for recommending… Artistic, yes… prophetic, possibly…Musically it is of the likes of Yoko…no idea why anyone would want to see it live. Peace
MORE, PLS
May 5, 2019 at 8:13 amCuts like Amethyst Realm and ‘Rockets’ have more artistic value than 90% of the cookie cutter, auto tune pop that dominates popular music today. I fully support Les and all his musical ventures. He has more creative flair than most.
Less, Pls
May 4, 2019 at 5:50 pmi just can’t help but say, as a former extreme fan of Les Claypool….dude, for love of humanity, just retire. Primus tour supporting SLayer? new band with Yoko Ono’s kid? you, sir have become beyond a joke. Shame on you, Jam cruise for continuing to tout this guy as a headliner (double billed, no less)….

May 4, 2019 at 4:05 pmHuge fan of the Bass. I guess I was early to the party (e.g. I’m old), but I am So over these two…. eventually, inevitably, nerds are just annoying
Gordo = Pedo
