After previously announcing acts like Ani DiFranco and Railroad Earth, the
Great Hudson River Revival, a.k.a. Clearwater Festival, has added Mavis Staples, The Lone Bellow and Immortal Technique to its 2019 lineup.
This year, the Upstate New York event is also set to celebrate folk icon Pete Seeger’s 100th birthday; Seeger founded the festival in the 1960s, and according to its website, the event has since “grown into the country’s largest annual environmental celebration.”
“Nothing beats putting the pieces together for your favorite festival in the world, especially when you are celebrating its biggest year yet, the 50/100 anniversary,” said Festival Director Jason Samel via press release. “I hope to make Pete proud for his 100th birthday. We are super lucky to have Mavis as a headliner. Her message is one which we all need to listen to.”
The Great Hudson River Revival will return to Croton Point Park in Croton-on-Hudson, NY, June 15 and 16. Tickets and more information can be found at the festival’s website.
