On Feb. 9, the evening prior to the Grammys, a wide variety of musicians, actors and comedians descended upon the Dirty Laundry bar in Los Angeles for the Wammys.

The event paid tribute to the Traveling Wilburys and presented the opportunity for performers like Perry Farrell, Boz Scaggs, Dhani Harrison, Weird Al Yankovic, Susanna Hoffs of The Bangles, Elliot Easton of The Cars and more to cover the Wilburys as well as the five legends that made up its roster: George Harrison, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison and Jeff Lynne.

“Wammys is always an excellent excuse for good friends to get together and play the songs that we would love to hear,” Harrison said in a press release. “It’s truly a family affair and I take joy in bringing together a random group of musicians who will always impress all around. This year we really opened the floodgates by including the solo careers of the Traveling Wilburys. I’m really blown away with how the band tackled the really complicated ELO numbers. I really hope that this leads us towards a full blown ELOfest as soon as possible.”

Highlights included Harrison and LA singer Mereki covering his father’s “If Not For You,” comics John C. Reilly and Tom Heidecker playing the Wilbury’s classic “End of the Line” and Weird Al offering his version of Petty’s “Refugee.”

The show ended will each performer taking the stage for a fun take on the Traveling Wilbury’s hit “Handle with Care.”
