Umphrey’s McGee opened up a two-night run at the Riverside Theatre in Milwaukee on Friday night, kicking things off with a bang as the band busted out a Ween cover that they hadn’t played in over a decade.
After an opening set from Marcus King Band, UM took the stage and wasted no time in getting the energy flowing, playing Ween’s Motörhead-alluding rocker “It’s Gonna Be a Long Night” from their 2003 album quebec, with keyboardist Joel Cummins belting out the lyrics. Umphrey’s had only played the tune once before, in early 2008.
See last night’s setlist below, along with video of the set openers (including the Ween cover) as shared by the band on Facebook. Umphrey’s McGee return to the Riverside Theater stage tonight for round two.
