Joe Russo’s Almost Dead returned to The Capitol Theatre on Saturday night for the second of their three shows at the venue this weekend, offering another two sets of cuts from the Grateful Dead catalog and highlighting the performance with guest spots from guitarist Jonathan Goldberger and Red Baraat.

The evening opened with a run of “Stagger Lee,” and the first set featured Dead classics like “Help On the Way,” “Slipknot!” and “Brown-Eyed Women,” plus covers like Merle Haggard’s “Mama Tried.”

To kick off set two, Almost Dead teamed up with Goldberger, who played with Joe Russo in his old group Fat Mama, playing extended versions of Dead tunes “Blues for Allah” and “St. Stephen.” After staples “Truckin'” and “Casey Jones,” with a cover of “Atlantic City” thrown in the middle, Almost Dead closed the set with the timely “One More Saturday Night.”

Before the band returned to the stage for last night’s encore, Red Baraat—Goldberger’s group that played a set at The Cap’s Garcia’s bar earlier in the evening—marched into the theater, taking the stage to meet up with Russo, at first, then the rest of Almost Dead as the collective rolled into “Not Fade Away” to wrap up the night.

See the full setlist below, along with pro-shot video of the set openers and and fan-shot footage of the encore collaboration. Almost Dead close out their three-night Cap run this evening.
