moe. kicked off their Tropical throe.down destination event in Jamaica on Thursday night with a two-set opening performance that featured a sit in from keyboardist Joe Tatton of fellow throe.down performers The New Mastersounds, and the host band continued the gathering on Friday with three more sets.

Tatton’s guest spot came during the second set on Thursday evening, when moe. brought up the keyboardist to help out on a run of three songs, starting with the band’s first cover of J.J. Cale’s “Cajun Moon” in just under two years. Tatton also stuck around for “Opium” and “Wormwood.”

On Friday afternoon, moe. moved to the Margaritaville restaurant in nearby Ocho Rios for an intimate daytime performance that featured a cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song” and a two-song encore of Jamaican icon Jimmy Cliff’s “The Harder They Come” and their own “Dr. Graffenburg,” the first time those songs have been played since January and June of 2016, respectively.

Last night, moe. offered another two-set affair, opening with “Nebraska” and it’s appropriate “nice this time of year” lyric, and playing a second set bookended by “Brent Black” before a “Not Coming Down” encore.
