After a surprise sit-in with Dumpstaphunk last weekend, Carlos Santana is keeping us on our toes with a newly announced EP as well as a new record label.

In Search of Mona Lisa will be released on Friday, Jan. 25 (with a vinyl edition out on Friday, Feb. 22) via California-based Concord Records.

Santana’s last release was 2017’s The Power of Peace, which featured his wife Cindy Blackman Santana and the Isley Brothers.

According to the guitarist’s website, the three new tunes on the EP were inspired by “a magical and deeply personal experience Carlos had when he visited the Louvre Museum and set his eyes on Leonardo da Vinci’s beguiling masterpiece.”

Santana will continue his Las Vegas residency at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay through this Spring, but he also recently added a stretch of North American tour dates, including gigs in Mexico and the Southeastern United States.
