On Dec. 20, Leftover Salmon banjoist Andy Thorn took a nasty spill on Colorado’s Copper Mountain and broke his leg.
According to the bluegrass musician, when he fell, a faulty ski didn’t eject from his boot, forcing his foot to twist around.
“So thankful nothing worse happened and surgery went smooth,” Thorn wrote on Instagram. “Hugely grateful for the ski patrollers that first got me through the tight trees, down a steep bump run and then all the way to the bottom of the mountain with no pain killers. And to my amazing wife for staying cool through the whole ordeal.”
Despite being chair-bound, Thorn still managed to make his gig the following evening in Keystone, Colo. with Keller Williams and The Andys (a trio with Thorn and the Infamous Stringdusters’ Andy Hall and Andy Falco).
Feel better Andy!
