Widespread Panic keyboardist Jojo Hermann is hitting the road this Winter with his Slim Wednesday band for a four night Mardi Gras tour, making stops in Washington DC, Baltimore, Ardmore, PA and Brooklyn, NY.

In addition to playing their own tunes, the band (featuring Hermann on keys as well as guitarist Leo Black, bassist Greg Bryant, drummer Kevin Mabin and a horn section of Jon Jackson and Ben Clark) will take a portion of each gig to pay tribute to Professor Longhair who would have turned 100 this year.

“We were a Professor Longhair cover band, originally, years ago. We’d play like one gig a year on Mardi Gras,” Hermann said of Slim Wednesday’s NOLA-inspired origins. “We just called it the Mardi Gras Band. And then we started playin’ a little bit more. We did a Jam Cruise and I think that really lit a fire in everybody. That made us write a few songs, do a few more dates and put out a record. So we did that.”

Slim Wednesday released their first LP Reptile Show in April 2018.
