Paul Barrere, guitarist and songwriter for iconic ’70s group Little Feat, released a new studio version of his tune “Old Folks Boogie” over the weekend, updating the track that first appeared on Little Feat’s 1977 album Time Loves a Hero.

The new version, which Barrere recorded with collaborator Roger Cole, speeds up the classic song a bit, while prominently featuring heavily overdriven electric guitar and a growling bassline throughout. Listen below.

Barrere and the current iteration of Little Feat recently confirmed a number of 50th anniversary tour dates for March 2019, kicking off March 7 in Washington, DC.
