For the first time since an ill-fated 2010 gig, The Disco Biscuits returned to Albany, NY for two nights at the Palace Theatre this weekend.

Friday night saw the band play a four-song set one, starting with “7-11” and seguing through an inverted “Above the Waves” as well as “Minions” and a closing “Voices Insane.”

Set two kicked off with a stand-alone “Sweating Bullets” and a “Ressurection”> “I-Man” segment, but the show’s real highlight came with their third-ever performance of Muse’s “Knights of Cydonia” (last played June 4, 2016).

The Disco Biscuits closed their first of two nights in Albany with “Story of the World” and encored with “World is Spinning.”

The next evening, the fun continued at the Palace Theatre. Saturday’s set one was punctuated by an opening “The Tunnel”> Spectacle” jam as well as crowd favorite “M.E.M.P.H.I.S.” which bled into “We Like To Party” and “Rock Candy.” The band closed the first half with their second “Save The Robots” of 2018 (last played 4/20/18).

Saturday’s second half began with a second go-around of “Spectacle,” and continued through “Spacebirdmatingcall.”

“Hope” followed, and the Disco Biscuits closed the second half with an exploration of “Reactor” containing a jam in and out of an inverted “Crickets.”

The band closed their two night run in Albany with “Portal to an Empty Head.”
