The next installment in the Grateful Dead’s Dave’s Picks archival release series will take from the band’s summer 1976 tour, specifically their show at the Capitol Theatre in Passaic, NJ, on June 17.

The performance marked the Dead’s very first concert at the venue and kicked off with a understated first set (including cuts like “Cold Rain and Snow,” “They Love Each Other,” “The Music Never Stopped,” “Row Jimmy” and “Scarlet Begonias”) before closing with a barn-burning second frame (opening with “Help On the Way”> “Slipknot!”> “Franklin’s Tower” and featuring “Friend of the Devil,” “Let It Grow” and an “Around and Around” closer).

Dave’s Picks Volume 28, recorded by Betty Cantor-Jackson and mastered by Jeffrey Norman, also includes two bonus cuts, “Sugaree” from 6/23/76 at the Tower Theatre in Upper Darby, PA, and “High Time” from 6/28/76 at Chicago’s Auditorium Theatre. See the full tracklist below.
