According to Billboard, Tedeschi Trucks Band just inked a deal to perform six shows at the Beacon Theatre and at least three shows at the Chicago Theatre annually through 2022.

TTB is currently in the midst of their Beacon Theatre run, a tradition inherited from Trucks’ former outfit the Allman Brothers.

“It’s nice to settle into a venue for a few nights, although we know there’s a portion of the audience that comes out for multiple shows, so we have to dig deep into the catalog,” Trucks told Billboard. “Musically it’s so much more rewarding to set up for multiple dates at a place where you can get comfortable with the sound of the room and when you’re not playing, relax a little bit and actually experience where ever you are at the moment.”

The two-city commitment is the brainchild of the Madison Square Garden Company, which maintains ownership of both venues. It seems that TTB will keep their running October appointment at the Beacon, with their new Chicago reservation scheduled for January 18, 19, 25 and 26.

“The Chicago natives appreciate a band showing up in January, it shows a certain hardiness,” Trucks laughed.

“It’s not just a concert — these are events that have become established parts of people’s lives,” MSG Live executive VP Darren Pfeffer said. “It’s something they look can look forward to, knowing they’ll see old friends and have a great time.”
