Bob Weir served as the special guest at this past weekend’s Sound Summit festival at Cushing Memorial Amphitheatre near the summit of Mt. Tamalpais overlooking Weir’s home base of Mill Valley, CA, and along with his previously reported sit in with Herbie Hancock, the Grateful Dead guitarist also joined Grace Potter during her set for “Friend of the Devil.”
Potter and her band welcomed Weir to the stage for the Dead classic, with both of them sharing vocals on the laid-back version of the tune. Watch a video of the collaboration below, courtesy of Deadheadland.
Next up for Weir is next week’s Get Down to Earth event for the Green Schools Alliance in San Francisco, before a stop at the inaugural Sweetwater in the Sun festival followed by his tour with new project Wolf Bros, kicking off in mid-October.

May 21, 2020 at 2:12 pmClassic Bobby eye-roll at 2:00 when his harmony goes sour. I was there, and it was definitely a magic moment on the mountain. Bobby talks about walking up to the outdoor stone amphitheater from his house in Mill Valley. Wavy is always there. Good times!!

May 10, 2019 at 7:50 pmThe fact that Grace is jamming with Bobby and this mediocre guitar player isn’t, says she is pretty good.

February 14, 2019 at 1:38 am“Heart and Led Zepplin songs…”, “country, in blue jeans and still singing other people’s glories”…originals, lead, backing, rock, jammy shit…sounds like a well rounded rockin’ chick who can rock and hot damn if she doesn’t have a killer voice that can take the stage and lead when surrounded by men. Yes please. We need some more killer female voices like that!

November 2, 2019 at 9:38 pmSaw her for the first time at the all good music festival back in 06′. The Nocturnals were only two other dudes. They were on a side stage, played 3 songs and absolutely blew everybody away! Best jam at the festival that year. Mediocre she was and is not.

Scott Tournet- lead guitar
Bryan Dondero- Bass
Matt Burr- Drums.
None of them play with her anymore. Basically nobody stay with her which says a lot. I was a fan of the band until Scott left. He was the heart and soul of that band. She was married to Matt Burr and ran off with a Hollywood producer. She’s a jerk.

December 15, 2018 at 4:10 pmLast time I saw Grace Potter she was wearing a sequined miniskirt and singing Heart and Led Zepplin songs . Now she’s doing country , in blue jeans and still singing other people’s glories . I hope one day she figures out who she is and what she likes , but she’ll always be a mediocre talent at best .

September 11, 2018 at 7:27 pmI was there and it was awesome. At the start of Bobby’s solo set there were only 10 people in the pit. Pretty unbelievable.
