On Friday night at the New York State Fair in Syracuse, NY, Tedeschi Trucks got back on the road in anticipation of their two sets at Virginia’s LOCKN’ Festival this weekend, performing on the State Fair’s Chevy Court stage and welcoming surprise guest guitarist Al Schnier of moe.

Schnier, who resides in nearby Utica, NY, emerged during TTB’s performance to help out on a cover of Derek and the Dominos’ “Tell the Truth.” The group’s set also featured TTB staples like “Bound for Glory” and “Midnight in Harlem,” plus covers of The Band’s “Down in the Flood,” Joe Cocker’s “Space Captain” and more.

The fairgrounds show came one day before another surprise sit in, this time by Derek Trucks during Umphrey’s McGee’s Led Zeppelin-themed set with drummer Jason Bonham last night at LOCKN’. Tedeschi Trucks Band play this evening and again tomorrow at the festival.
