In a lengthy retort on his website, Dweezil Zappa addressed a number of issues currently facing him caused by the Zappa Family Trust centered around the recently announced plans to tour with a Frank Zappa hologram.

Dweezil walks through various quotes and thoughts attributed to him by brother Ahmet and the Zappa Family Trust, all of which were incorrect. He also details the various cease and desist letters sent to him, leading to the removal of the “Zappa Plays Zappa” name and the various other formats, the last of which was the “Dweezil Zappa Plays Whatever the F@#! He Wants: The Cease and Desist Tour.”

As for the hologram, Zappa says, “The press release about the tour appears to state that they have communicated with me about being involved with such a tour. Like other fans of my father, I heard about it through social media.”

He explicitly states that he will not participate in the tour. “I am not interested in participating in anything with an artificial version of my father on stage.”

Upon the news of the hologram tour, Dweezil is working with his legal team against the Zappa Family Trust. “On principle alone I must defend myself,” he says while also noting “we are almost ready to go to trial.”
