Sam Holt will host the two-night Remembering Mikey – A Celebration of the Music, Memory and Spirit of Michael Houser event this weekend. The 5th annual celebration will take place at Steamboat Springs, CO’s Ghost Ranch on August 9 and Denver, CO’s Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom on August 10.

Holt served as Houser’s guitar tech for many years and now leads his own Sam Holt Band. He also augmented Widespread Panic before Jimmy Herring officially joined the band.

The show will feature a mix of Houser originals from his posthumous release Sandbox as well as songs he wrote for Widespread Panic. Holt will also perform a number of songs he wrote for and were inspired by Houser.

“Mike meant so much to so many. He instilled me with the confidence to play music and this show is a way for us to celebrate his music and memory,” Holt relates.

For these shows, Holt will be joined by Spanky McCluer (bass, vocals) and Andy Clapp (drums) from The Sam Holt Band, Polytoxic’s Tori Pater (guitar, mandolin, vocals) and Eric Martinez from Bloodkin (guitar, vocals).
