Atlanta, GA’s Variety Playhouse has confirmed the initial lineup for their 2nd Annual Holiday Hootenanny. The all-star celebration will take place on December 16, boasting a number of notable southern musicians. As of press time, the event’s initial lineup includes: Papa Mali, The Allman Brothers Band’s Oteil Burbridge, Larry Keel, Col. Bruce Hampton Ret, The Mosier Brothers, Ike Stubblefield, Jeff Sipe, Derek Trucks Band’s Count M’Butu, Grant Green Jr. and Gaurav Malhotra. The evening will double as something of an Aquarium Rescue Unit reunion since Hampton, Burbridge, Sipe, The Mosier Brothers’ Rev. Jeff Mosier and Count M’Butu all played in the seminal group at various times. Attendees are encouraged to bring two cans of food for Atlanta Community Food Bank to the holiday event.
