A classic Slip NYE run moment
On Saturday night, The Slip closed out their two-night run at San Francisco’s Cafe Du Nord with a celebratory performance to ring in the new year. Following a high energy first set, the group was joined by a horn section that featured Rob Ewing on trombone and Cory Wright on saxophone. At the stroke of midnight, the group nodded to the new year by segueing from a brand new tune (Brad Barr said they had just written it as their New Year’s song) into “Auld Lang Syne.”
In other Slip-related news, The Bar Brothers will be appearing on The Late Show with David Letterman this Thursday, January 5.
