Peter Gabriel, Afrika Bambaataa, Paul Oakenfold, Bill Frisell, Buddy Guy and McCoy Tyner were among those on a judging panel that selected the winners of the 6th Annual Independent Music Awards. A range of artists in such genres as America, Blues, Folk/ Singer-Songwriter and Jam were honored in both the Album and Song categories. Garaj Mahal garnered the Jam Album Award for its Blueberry Cave disc. ‘My Morning Scene’ from Relix Records recording artist Jonah Smith was selected in the Folk/ Singer-Songwriter song category while the top Folk/Singer-Songwriter album was Dan Berns Breathe.
