Pink Floyd enthusiasts were agog over rumors this weekend that Roger Waters had reunited with David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Rick Wright at Friday’s funeral of longtime Floyd manager Steve O’Rourke (for what would have been their first public performance since the Wall tour in 1981). Alas, this did not turn out to be true, although Gilmour, Mason and Wright did perform ‘Fat Old Sun’ and ‘Great Gig in the Sky’ at the ceremony which took place at Chichester Cathedral in Sussex England. O’Rourke who was 63 years old when he passed away on October 30, first took on the role of manager in 1968, soon after the departure of Syd Barrett from the group. After Waters left the group, O’Rourke continued working with Gilmour, Mason and Wright both in their solo careers and with the band.
