Garaj Mahal have confirmed a series of 2026 dates. The jam-fusion group, which was active around the turn of the Millenium but stopped touring in 2010, started actively gigging again 2018 and released their first LP in 15 years, Rotifer in 2025. In addition to band mainstays Fareed Haque (guitar) and Kai Eckhardt (bass) and members of their recent touring lineups, the album also featured appearances by Fishbone’s Angelo Moore and Cautious Clay.
This weekend, during the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Garaj Mahal will showcase their new music and classics during a show at Cafe Istanbul on Sunday, May 3. For this date, the lineup will include Eckhardt, Haque, Greg Fundis and Oz Ezzeldin. Following that show, Fareed Haque Trio with Herlin Riley and Mark Brooks will perform a midnight at the same space.
Looking ahead, Garaj Mahal have also announced a few Midwest date. That swing includes stops at Traverse City,MI’s The Alluvion (8/21), Chicago’s Garcia’s (8/22) and Indianapolis, IN’sThe Mousetrap (8/23).
