George Porter, Jr., Stanton Moore, John Gros and Mark Mullins will come together for a performance at New Orleans’ Tipitina’s next month. Billed as Doin’ It For Dave, the December 11 event will benefit New Orleans musician Dave Jordan, who is currently recovering from a stroke.  The Iko Allstars, Desert Nudes, Lynn Drury , John Fohl and members of the N.I.A., among others, will also appear, while David Kunia, music curator at Louisiana State Museum, will emcee the event.

Porter, who appeared at Tipitina’s on Wednesday as part of a tribute to Art Neville and Eddie Bo, will perform at the Acadiana Center for the Arts in Lafayette, LA on December 12 and New York’s Brooklyn Bowl on December 17 as part of the Fandiem Holiday Superjam. The bassist will close 2025 with a Runnin’ Pardners show at Venice, CA’s The Venice West on December 31.
