The Songwriters Hall of Fame has announced the nominees for induction in its 2026 Awards Gala. The 33 names to be considered for the institution’s 55th annual class of honorees–typically comprising six or seven artists and groups–include both performers and non-performing songwriters who have accumulated an extensive catalog in at least 20 years since their first release.

Some of the most notable performers up for entry into the hall of fame next year include David Byrne, Taylor Swift, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of Kiss, Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell of America, Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings of The Guess Who, Kenny Loggins, Richard Carpenter, LL Cool J and Charlotte Caffey, Kathy Valentine and Jane M. Wiedlin of The Go-Go’s. Among the non-performing nominees are Pete Bellotte (“Hot Stuff,” “I Feel Love,” “Love To Love You Baby,” “Push It To The Limit”), Patrick Leonard (“Like A Prayer,” “Live To Tell,” “You Want It Darker,” “Yet Another Movie”) and Steve Kipner (“Physical,” “Hard Habit To Break,” “Genie In A Bottle,” “Breakeven”).

Voting for the 55th annual Songwriters Hall of Fame induction ceremony will remain open for eligible members through Dec. 4. Inductees will be honored at the annual Awards Gala in New York City, joining more than 400 songwriters added since its establishment in 1969, including Brian Wilson, Paul Simon, Billy Joel, Trey Anastasio, Elton John and Bernie Taupin, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Lionel Richie, Bill Withers, R.E.M., Steely Dan and more.
