High Sierra Music Festival has continued the lineup rollout for its 2025 festival with a fourth batch of artists. Following three previous weeks of rolling reveals, the festival’s latest dispatch features 11 more outstanding additions, joining a collection of some of the most beloved acts from the worlds of jam, jazz, Americana and everything in between.
Jam scene essentials among the week four round-up include Daniel Donato, Andy Frasco, Karina Rykman, Molly Tuttle, Holly Bowling, and Natalie Cressman & Ian Faquini. Other exciting entries include Cat Clyde, Dessert Hollow, Diggin’ Dirt, Sgt. Splendor and The Heeters. This collection brings the total lineup so far for the four-day event to 43 performers, including such community staples as Mikaela Davis, ALO, LaMP, John Craigie, Low Cut Connie, The Coffis Brothers and Dogs in a Pile.
High Sierra announced its 33rd annual staging–returning to its longtime home of Plumas-Sierra County Fairground in Quincy, Calif from July 3-6–in November of last year, just as peculation had begun to stir about the beloved Northern California event’s future. Prior to the festival’s 2024, presentation, organizers notified High Sierra’s tight-knit community of attendees that an economic crunch would be cause for likely “significant changes in 2025.” With the news of its return, the festival also welcomed former co-producer David “Dave” Margulies on as High Sierra’s producer and curator, who stepped up to assume the role previously held by founder Roy Carter.
“My goal is to turn people on to music they’ve never heard before, while also including the kinds of music that has made High Sierra one of the more highly regarded and longest-running multi-day music festivals in the country,” Margulies reflected in a press release. “Our community of fans, staff, vendors, and artists are the heart of High Sierra. Their collective passion, support, and belief in what we do has not only been instrumental in helping us thrive and survive through 32 years, but they’ve also been responsible for creating and growing the culture in the most organic and loving way. We’re eternally GRATEFUL.”
With the notice that High Sierra had weathered its recent tumultuous circumstances, artist-at-large Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz–who will perform with ALO–celebrated the good news with statement of his own. “High Sierra truly is a musical playground,” he shared. “The musicians know this, and that’s why they looooove being part of it! From the epic sets on the big stages to the pin-drop intimacy of the troubadour sessions, to the once-in-a-lifetime collaboration of the Playshops, it’s so much more than just a great music festival. It’s a convergence point from which fruitful lifelong relationships are born, both on stage and off! Viva High Sierra!”
