Widespread Panic percussionist Domingo “Sunny” Ortiz has confirmed a handful of sideshows while home in the Southeast. On March 14, Ortiz and the Workhorses of the Entertainment/Recreation Industry will open for old friends the Randall Bramblett Band at Athens, Ga’s Foundry; the gig is birthday show for Bramblett, a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter known for his work with Traffic, Steve Winwood, Gregg Allman and Bettye LaVette, as well as Panic. Then, shortly after, Ortiz and the Workhorses of the Entertainment/Recreation Industry will appear at Waverly, AL’s Standard Deluxe on March 28 and 29.

In addition to Ortiz, the melodic, acoustic folk-rock project features Rob Keller, Ben Reynolds and William Tonks. Panic recently returned from an unexpected hiatus following Jimmy Herring’s cancer diagnosis with shows in Atlantic City, NJ.
