Joe Walsh has announced the cancellation of the 8th annual VetAid event, which was slated to occur on November 11, 2024, at UBS Arena in Belmont Park, N.Y. The musician, best known as a longtime member of the Eagles, shared the update on Friday, Oct. 25, citing “reasons beyond their control” as the catalyst for the official withdrawal.

Despite the change in plans, VetAid has confirmed the disbursement of $400,000 in grants to previously announced recipients. “The wellbeing of our veterans and their families remains my foremost concern and the primary mission of VetsAid,” Walsh asserted via comments that arrived in tandem with the cancellation.

The decorated artist continued his statement, “While I am disappointed in the cancellation of this year’s event and apologize for any inconvenience to our fans, I am thrilled to share that VetsAid will provide $400,000 in grants to these fine organizations who will focus these funds on the ground in New York and New Jersey to veterans who have sacrificed so much and asked for so little in return.”

For ticket holders, refunds will be issued via Ticketmaster.
