New York City native singer-songwriter Craig Greenberg has released an updated video for his anthemic single “We’ll Come Together,” supporting the Harris-Walz campaign. Originally released in April 2021, “We’ll Come Together” is a hopeful tune about a renewed sense of optimism after a long period of health and climate uncertainty. The updated video features clips of Kamala Harris and Tim Walz across their campaign trail, complete with interspersed images of smiling faces and patriotic American flag imagery.
Greenberg wrote “We’ll Come Together” the day after the 2020 election, an unusually warm fall day in New York City, as he felt a long-dormant sense of hope and peace for the future amid the chaos of the pandemic and political climate. Re-edited by Mark Rosenberg, the new video features mastering from Alex Psaroudakis, mixing from Wayne Silver, drums from Hiroyuki Matsuura, and additional vocals from Beckley Andrews and Danielle Rhodes. With 20 days until the 2024 election, “We’ll Come Together” is even more poignant now, as it implores listeners to focus on the things that unite them rather than what divides them.
With his back to the NYC skyline, Greenberg sings, “I believe we’ll come back from these times / Even stronger and more unified.” While Greenberg delves into a guitar solo, clips from the 2024 Democratic National Convention float across the screen emphasizing reproductive rights. Then, as he enters the final chorus, a chorus of voters emerges, mouthing the words to the song as Greenberg calls on the community to exercise their rights. “[T]here’s no thing we can’t beat if we try,” Greenberg adds, alluding to the power of collective action “If we stand together this time.”
