Grateful Dead backbeat and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame recipient Mickey Hart has added two new pieces of art to his one-of-a-kind exhibit and digital auction in collaboration with Terrapin Station Entertainment. “Three Ghosts” and “Diga Mon” are now included, alongside three still-available expressions, including “Da Bolt,” “Smokin’ Rhythm” and “Token Rhythm.”
Through August 11, fans of Hart’s vibrational expressionist practice can view his art via the Art At The Edge of Magic Exhibit at The Venetian in Las Vegas or online, where bids can be placed on four unique paintings. Newly added features of the online art auction include “Three Ghost,” a 48 x 72-inch acrylic painting with striking color variants of pink, yellow, and green that gently sway with intentional movement.
Backlit “Diga Mon” is a statement piece featuring vibrant yellow mingling over bold black in breathtaking effect. Already listed features of the online auction, “Da Bolt,” a 30 x 30-inch acrylic painting that centers the Dead’s signature 13-point lightning bolt with radiating lines of green, blue, and purple emanating from the center, remains available.
Also included is “Da Blues,” representing Hart’s abstract side through the deliberate use of organic merging of color and line. Striking blue tones emulate a cosmic look at the Earth’s waterways while piercing red spreads like wildfire across a global landscape. “Smokin’ Rhythms” captures the pulse of paint on canvas with speckles of color seemingly spontaneously applied, in addition to “Token Rhythm,” which could easily be the sister piece to the former.
Visit edgeofmagicauction.com to view artworks that are up for bid. Hart’s exhibit is on display at the Venetian for folks in or headed to Las Vegas for the final Dead Forever weekend at Sphere.
